The Wellington chapter of the Sport Aircraft Association has spaces available for lease in its hangar located at the southwest side of Paraparaumu aerodrome. The hangar is secure (inside the aerodrome security fence), with generator power available and an adjacent toilet and basic clubroom.
The hangar spaces are available to recreational pilots only and tenants are required to be or become members of SAA Wellington chapter.
One space has a total width of 7.3 metres and the second 7.2 metres, which limits their use to aircraft with relatively short wingspan, while diagonal structural bracing further reduces the available width above about chest height. Recent aircraft types occupying these spaces were Vans RV6, Zenith CH200 and Pitts Special.
A further space with a maximum width of 5.7 metres is also available and may suit a small helicopter, gyro, or an aircraft with folding wings.
